Town's First Sign Of Change Of The Seasons Signaled By Resident Cracking Open First "Spring" Beer On Front Porch
Who needs Punxsutawney when we have Bill?

Ahh the first taste of spring.
Lifelong townie, Bill Richards, takes pride every March as he emerges from under the pile of leaves he raked the previous October to signal the end of the winter season.
Once Bill climbs out from the pile, he returns home, opens the door, inspects his surroundings on his front porch, scurries back into the house before finally making a reappearance with a six-pack of light beers. This delicate dance of the spring season culminates when Bill cracks open a beer saying “ahh my first spring beer, nothing like it.”
Neighbors say “it’s nice to see Bill, he disappears for months during the winter season but it’s reassuring to see him slinging back a six-pack once the first bud of spring appears.”
After the cracking of the beer tab, Bill tells town officials to sound the largest bell in town and spring has officially begun.
