House Blows Away Like Tumbleweed After Inflatable Santa Popped By Cat In Front Yard

WILLIS ST — A house on Willis Street was blown away Wednesday morning after a tabby cat pounced on an inflatable Santa like it was a cat toy popping the jumbo air-filled decoration. The pop was measured to have released the force of about 100 thousand explosions, according to street resident Reese Young.
“The wind from the fallout caught the house like a tumbleweed and blew it away like it was nothing,” recalled Reese as she picked up the tattered remnants of what was once the 14-foot tall Santa decoration. “The cat should be held responsible as far as I’m concerned, whether that’s community service, jail time or whatnot.”
Distraught neighbors gathered around where the inflatable once stood sharing stories of the short time they got to spend with the decoration before it was popped into oblivion seemingly ignoring the fact that an entire house blew away because of it.
“I just walked by the Santa a couple hours ago I can’t believe it’s really gone. Hoping for a Christmas miracle that the owner will rebuild the inflatable by Christmas Eve,” said neighbor Walter Lynn as he placed a bouquet of flowers where the Santa decoration once stood.
Another neighbor, Clarendon Pin, was glad to see the decoration gone saying “if I had to open my front door to stare at that thing another day I would’ve popped it myself”, which quickly brought him under speculation that he may have trained the cat to pop it.
The owner of the house, who asked for privacy during this time, was seen getting denied a homeowner’s insurance claim after the company stated that it “wildly does not cover events such as this.”
